147th Annual NRA Show in Dallas Is a Family Affair, May 4-6

As a proud NRA Life member, I’m headed to what feels like a family reunion this week as I join 80,000 fellow shooting sports and hunting enthusiasts for the 147th NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits in Dallas, Texas, May 4-6.  The must-see event at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center features 800-plus exhibitors and seminars and special events for the entire family.

And speaking of the entire family, what is more fun than target shooting or hunting together?  That’s why I’d head straight for Ammo Inc. in Booth No. 10959 to view its new-for-2018 Streak Visual Ammunition. While Ammo Inc. has several innovative, performance-driven products, I think this ammo, which the company unveiled at the 2018 SHOT Show, could have the most impact on the shooting sports and the R3 (Recruit, Retain, Reactivate) movement for hunters and recreational shooters. With its tagline, “You Can See the Difference,” Streak Visual Ammunition’s patented illumination technology lets you watch your projectile travel toward the target. This makes shooting fun for the whole family regardless of who is shooting. Streak rounds also are non-incendiary. They do not generate heat so they are safe to use in places where traditional tracers are prohibited as fire hazards. And because of the ammo’s HyperClean technology, you can shoot more and clean your gun less. As you’d guess, Streak Visual Ammunition is best used in indoor and dusk-to-dawn settings for maximum visibility. Ammo Inc. says the results are game-changing for American shooters, law enforcement and military. Personally the most innovative product I’ve seen in a while, Streak is currently available in three calibers: 9mm, .40 S&W and .45 Auto.

As for “Z,” one thing every hunter and shooter can use is Z Clear’s anti-fog and lens cleaner on display in Booth No. 12256. Also check out Zerust Consumer Products’ non-toxic rust- and corrosion-prevention products in Booth No. 10450. In addition to the company’s oil and gun cleaner, look for its fleece-lined rifle bag that releases an anti-rust vapor covering all exposed metal surfaces to protect your gun for up to five years.

And don’t forget: Multiple outfitters are also exhibiting at the NRA show for those who want to book a hunting adventure. This is just one more reason the NRA is predicting this show may be the biggest in its 147-year history.
