A Legacy of Passion and Generosity: The Shea Family’s Commitment to the NRA

Richard and Liz Shea, a dynamic couple from Texas, have always been passionate about the outdoors and the thrill of the hunt. Their love for hunting and shooting sports has brought them closer together and inspired them to support the National Rifle Association through a planned gift in their will.

Richard's first big game hunt was an unforgettable experience. He bagged an elk on an exhilarating expedition, and the excitement of the hunt was palpable. A year later, Richard enthusiastically recounted his adventure at a dinner with industry leaders during the NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits. The group, intrigued by his story, asked Liz if she had also bagged an elk. With a playful smile, Liz replied, "No, Cheapie wouldn't buy me a gun."

Liz Shea immersed herself in the hunting lifestyle and embraced the opportunity to leave a legacy to the NRA to make a difference in securing the future of hunting and the shooting sports.

The room erupted in laughter, and the camaraderie was infectious. Inspired by the moment, Richard surprised Liz with a hunt for her birthday. To their delight, the industry leaders sent her an array of hunting gear as a present, making it a truly memorable occasion.

This warm and happy memory is just one of many that the Shea family cherishes. Their love for the Second Amendment, hunting and the gun owning community has led them to make a significant commitment to the NRA. Through their planned gift, they hope to ensure that future generations can enjoy the same thrills and camaraderie they have experienced.

The Shea family's generosity is a testament to their dedication to preserving the traditions of hunting and shooting sports. Their support is helping the NRA continue its mission of promoting firearm safety, education and wildlife conservation, ensuring that the legacy of these all-American traditions endures for years to come.

In the words of Richard and Liz, “We are proud to support the National Rifle Association and hope that our contribution will inspire others to do the same. The joy and camaraderie we have experienced through hunting and shooting sports are priceless, and we want to ensure that future generations can enjoy these activities as much as we have.”
