NRA and Partner Groups Thank President Trump for “Make American Beautiful Again” Executive Order

Many found it fitting that President Donald J. Trump issued his executive order establishing the President's Make America Beautiful Again Commission (MABA)  on July 3, putting America first once again just in time for Independence Day. The order, which prioritizes expanding public land access for hunting and encouraging wildlife conservation efforts through proactive, on-the-ground collaborative efforts, was immediately embraced by the NRA and 32 other hunter-backed organizations that signed onto a letter to President Trump to express their appreciation.

Of course, if you sent President Trump a thank-you note every time he put America first, you’d never leave your computer keyboard, but sometimes one must give credit where it is due.

“We write today to express our gratitude for your leadership in implementing the Make America Beautiful Again Executive Order,” the letter stated. “We share the vision of this important initiative to conserve and restore our nation’s lands, waters and wildlife. Launching this effort during America’s 250th birthday celebration reminds our citizens that caring for our natural heritage is central to our national story.”

As part of a broad coalition demonstrating the scope of America’s hunting and conservation community, the 33 signatories pledged to support President Trump’s directive. The letter applauded the priorities outlined in the Make America Beautiful Again initiative and the fact it takes critical steps toward achieving measurable conservation outcomes while also recognizing the importance of protecting our environment to the economy.

“We strongly endorse your emphasis on effective conservation strategies—including collaborative wildlife recovery and habitat restoration, wetlands revitalization and water infrastructure modernization, active forest management and ecosystem restoration, public lands access and private lands conservation,” the letter continued.

While acknowledging how pursuing these objectives will deliver results for healthier forests, rangelands, watersheds and wildlife, it also expressed the gratitude for focusing on “cutting red tape to accelerate restoration projects and prioritizing collaboration over regulation.” Ultimately, President Trump’s commitment to effective environmental stewardship means a healthier environment, safer communities and improved outdoor access for every American.

The letter emphasized that conservation efforts unite all Americans as protecting our national treasures is a bipartisan goal.

“Your Make America Beautiful Again initiative continues this legacy and reminds us that every American—regardless of party—can take pride in stewarding the lands, waters and wildlife that significantly contribute to our national identity,” the latter concluded. “We are united in the belief that protecting nature is good for people, good for the economy and good for the country, and we look forward to working with you to make this commission a success.
